Joey Quarles dies in fatal Madison County, Mississippi car crash

Fatal Madison County, Mississippi car crash death of Joey Quarles – Obituary

Joey Quarles, 41, of Brookhaven, was killed in a two-vehicle collision on US-49 in Madison County on the evening of January 16, authorities reported. The crash occurred near Petrified Forest Road around 8:10 p.m., according to Trooper Darnika Mayfield of the Mississippi Highway Patrol.

Quarles was driving a 2007 Toyota Camry northbound when his vehicle hydroplaned and struck a 2020 Honda CR-V carrying three passengers, also heading north. After the collision, Quarles’ car left the roadway and hit a tree. The Honda’s driver, 32-year-old Shequita Young, and her passengers, 32-year-old Frank Moore and a minor child, were not injured.

Quarles suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Mississippi Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
