Gary Knight Sr., 71, of Easley, has died following injuries sustained when he was struck by a train earlier this week.

Emergency crews from Pickens County EMS, Easley Fire Department, and Easley Police responded to the scene near Allen Street on Saturday after the incident. Knight was initially treated at the site and then taken to Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Hospital staff reported to the Pickens County Coroner’s Office on Tuesday that Knight had passed away due to complications from multiple blunt force injuries. Authorities, including the Easley Police Department and the coroner’s office, are continuing their investigation into the incident.
