Fatal Downers Grove stabbing death of Eliza Morales – Obituary
On January 29, 2026, 24-year-old Eliza Morales, a pregnant mother of one, was brutally murdered outside her home in Downers Grove, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. Morales, who was five months pregnant with her second child, was stabbed 70 times by 19-year-old Nedas Revuckas. Both Morales and her unborn child did not survive the attack.
The tragedy unfolded after Revuckas went to purchase a pickup truck from Morales’ husband, which was listed on Facebook Marketplace. After expressing dissatisfaction with the truck’s condition, Revuckas became enraged and engaged in a confrontation with Morales. Despite telling Revuckas that she was pregnant, Morales was stabbed multiple times. Afterward, Revuckas allegedly set fire to her home and also attacked the family dog, though the pet managed to escape.
Morales leaves behind a 2-year-old daughter. Her family is devastated by her death, calling it a “horrific, violent crime.” Her mother-in-law, Angelica Silva, described the act as “pure evil,” while her cousin, Carolina Castro, expressed disbelief, emphasizing that Morales was a kind and loving person who did not deserve such a fate. The family vows to raise Morales’ daughter in a way that honors her memory.
Revuckas faces first-degree murder charges for the deaths of both Morales and her unborn child.
