A tragic crash occurred Thursday night outside the Cummins Unit in Arkansas, resulting in the death of 20-year-old Corporal Kajayla Hill. Hill, a Department of Corrections officer, was driving a Nissan when it collided with a northbound Peterbilt truck at the intersection of Highway 65 and Highway 388. The Arkansas State Police preliminary report revealed that Hill failed to yield to the approaching truck while pulling onto Highway 65, and the wet road conditions might have contributed to the accident. Hill was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was rushed to Delta Memorial Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

Kajayla Hill had joined the Department of Corrections in July 2025, with her first assignment at the Cummins Unit. The department paid tribute to her service on its official Facebook page, honoring her memory.
