Fatal Woodford County, Illinois car crash death of Steven A. Porter – Obituary

Steven A. Porter, a 37-year-old man from Bloomington, lost his life following a serious traffic collision involving a semi-truck on Interstate 39 in Woodford County. Authorities confirmed that the deadly crash occurred Thursday near mile marker 14, close to the city of El Paso.

According to the Woodford County Coroner’s Office, emergency responders were dispatched to the scene after reports of a collision on the interstate. Investigators determined that Porter was driving a white SUV when it collided with a semi-truck operated by a 43-year-old man from Wisconsin.

Coroner Tim Ruestman stated that Porter was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 12:55 p.m. An autopsy has been scheduled, and toxicology testing will be completed in accordance with Illinois state requirements.

The circumstances leading up to the crash remain under investigation. The Woodford County Coroner’s Office is working alongside the Woodford County Sheriff’s Office and Illinois State Police to determine what caused the collision and to piece together the events that resulted in Porter’s death.
