Faith Shalita Mitchell, 35, of Greensboro, was killed Thursday night in a head-on collision, Greensboro police report. The crash occurred around 11:50 p.m. near the intersection of Summit Avenue and Helen Road.

Authorities say a northbound Honda Civic driven by Mitchell crossed the centerline and collided directly with a southbound Toyota Highlander. The impact caused Mitchell’s vehicle to veer off the road and strike a tree.

Mitchell was pronounced dead at the scene, while the Toyota’s driver was transported to a hospital for medical care. Police noted that neither weather nor road conditions appear to have contributed to the crash, and the investigation remains active.
