Fatal Kenai, Alaska motel fire death of Thomas L. Conn – Obituary
Authorities in Kenai have confirmed that Thomas L. Conn lost his life following a fire at a local motel early Sunday morning.
According to the City of Kenai Fire Department, emergency crews were dispatched to the Uptown Motel shortly after 9 a.m. after receiving reports of a fire inside the building. When firefighters arrived, they encountered heavy smoke and visible flames coming from a ground-floor room.
Fire crews entered the motel to battle the blaze while also checking the building to ensure no other occupants were in danger. Officials said the fire was limited to the single room where it began.
During the search, firefighters discovered Conn unresponsive inside the room where the fire originated. He was taken out through a window and immediately handed over to medical personnel at the scene.
Despite life-saving efforts, Conn could not be revived and was pronounced dead at the location. Police later confirmed that his family has been notified of his death.
