Tremaine Jones, 33, of Shreveport, was killed in a single-vehicle crash early Friday morning on Interstate 20, according to the Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office. The incident occurred shortly before 2:30 a.m. as Jones was traveling westbound.

Authorities said Jones exited the interstate onto the Linwood Avenue off-ramp, where his vehicle lost control, slammed into an overpass support, and overturned. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Shreveport police reported that Jones had been heading home from a local casino when he encountered icy conditions still present on part of the off-ramp. His Chevrolet Blazer flipped after striking the column, leaving him trapped inside.

Officials noted that Jones’ death marks the fourth traffic-related fatality recorded in the city so far this year.
