Fatal Box Elder County car crash death of Jordan Sever – Obituary
Jordan Sever, a 22-year-old man from Riverdale, Utah, was killed early Thursday morning following a single-vehicle crash along Interstate 15 near Perry, according to law enforcement officials.
Utah Highway Patrol said troopers found Sever deceased at the scene after his vehicle was discovered off the roadway. The crash occurred at approximately 1:58 a.m. on the southbound lanes of I-15 in Box Elder County.
Investigators said Sever was driving a white Hyundai Elantra and was reportedly traveling at a high speed with the vehicle’s headlights turned off. Evidence at the scene indicates the Elantra struck another vehicle that was traveling in the far-right lane before leaving the roadway.
Authorities later determined that the second vehicle involved was a semi-truck. The truck’s driver contacted troopers several hours after the crash to report possible involvement. The semi-truck driver was not injured.
Officials confirmed that Sever was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
Following his death, Sever’s mother, Raquel Sever, shared a tribute on social media, describing her son as intelligent, humorous, and kind-hearted. She said he enjoyed teaching chess and was a devoted son, brother, and uncle. The family expressed appreciation for the support they have received from the community.
Funeral arrangements are pending, and a GoFundMe account has been established to assist the family with memorial expenses.
