Fatal McPherson County shooting death of Joshua Soden – Obituary

Joshua Soden, 19, was fatally shot following an altercation at a house party southwest of Inman, Kansas, early Saturday morning.

Authorities say the conflict began among partygoers under the influence of alcohol and continued when two groups left in separate vehicles, eventually confronting each other on a rural road near 4th Avenue and Arapaho Road.

During a physical fight between two men, Soden was shot and later pronounced dead. The other individual involved, 18, contacted 911 and was later questioned by the Inman Police Department but was not taken into custody.

Investigators from the Kansas Bureau of Investigation and the McPherson County Sheriff’s Office are continuing their work, and officials have assured the public that there is no ongoing threat to the community.
