Authorities reported that a deadly shooting at an apartment complex in Forsyth resulted in the death of 29-year-old Gregory Middlebrooks. The incident took place Monday night at the Forsyth Gardens Apartments, prompting a response from law enforcement after emergency dispatchers received reports of gunfire in the area.

When officers arrived at the complex around 9:30 p.m., they located Middlebrooks deceased at the scene. Officials from the Monroe County Coroner’s Office confirmed his death, while the Georgia Bureau of Investigation took over the case to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Investigators stated that the confrontation allegedly began during a dispute involving Middlebrooks and 32-year-old Roderious Gooddrum of Jackson, Georgia. Authorities claim the argument escalated, leading to the fatal shooting.

Following the investigation, Gooddrum was taken into custody and is now facing charges that include felony murder and aggravated assault. Law enforcement officials continue to examine the details of the case as the investigation remains ongoing.
