A young man from Pittsford has died following a single-vehicle accident after his SUV veered off the roadway. Authorities confirmed that the victim was 21-year-old Benjamin Adams, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Adams had earlier been reported missing after he was last seen Monday night departing from a residence in Pittsford. As Vermont State Police worked to locate him, a member of the public came across a crash site near the intersection of Vermont Route 3 and U.S. Route 7.

Responding officers found Adams unresponsive inside a Toyota 4Runner that had left the road for reasons still under investigation. Emergency personnel confirmed his death at the scene.
