Fatal Grand Junction head-on collision death of Larry Schneider – Obituary

Larry Schneider, 74, of Grand Junction, lost his life Monday afternoon in a head-on crash on Highway 6 and 50 near Patterson Road. The Mesa County Coroner’s Office confirmed Schneider was the driver involved in the collision and that he died from injuries sustained in the crash.

The Grand Junction Police Department responded to the scene around 5 p.m., just west of 24 Road, where authorities determined an eastbound vehicle had crossed into oncoming traffic, causing the collision. Schneider was transported to a nearby hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle involved suffered only minor injuries and was also taken to a hospital for treatment. Both the Grand Junction Fire Department and Colorado State Patrol assisted at the scene during the emergency response.
