Fatal Beaverton pedestrian crash death of Qiuhua Shen – Obituary
Qiuhua Shen, a 69-year-old resident of Beaverton, died after being struck by a vehicle Saturday evening in South Beaverton, according to local authorities. The collision occurred on January 31 at the intersection of Southwest Greenway Boulevard and Southwest Windmill Drive.
Beaverton police said officers were called to the scene at about 6:52 p.m. after receiving reports that a pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle. Shen was transported to a nearby hospital following the crash, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
Investigators stated that Shen had been crossing Southwest Greenway Boulevard at a location without a marked crosswalk. Police noted that the area is poorly lit. At the time of the incident, she was accompanied by her husband.
Authorities reported that the driver involved remained at the scene and fully cooperated with the investigation. Police do not believe impairment played a role in the crash.
The Beaverton Police Department is continuing to investigate and is asking anyone who witnessed the collision or has information related to the incident to contact them, referencing case number 2026-310836.
