Rykah J. Lyons, a 16-year-old from Remsen, was identified by New York State Police as the teenager who lost their life in a snowmobile accident in the town of Russia. The crash occurred on February 2 near Riggerman Road.

According to investigators, Lyons was riding alone on a snowmobile heading south along a secondary trail when control of the machine was lost. The snowmobile left the trail and collided with a tree.

Emergency responders pronounced Lyons dead at the scene. New York State Police said multiple agencies assisted during the response, including North Star Ambulance, the Remsen Fire Department, and the Barneveld Fire Department.

Authorities noted that the investigation into the fatal crash remains ongoing.
