Fatal Glendale Metrolink collision death of Zukhra Kurbanova – Obituary

Zukhra Kurbanova, 35, was killed Wednesday morning when the vehicle she was driving was struck by a Metrolink train in Glendale. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner confirmed Kurbanova as the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene after the collision on Brazil Street near San Fernando Road and Broadway.

Glendale police reported that Kurbanova was driving northbound on West San Fernando Road and attempted a right turn onto Broadway, which becomes Brazil Street. As her vehicle entered the crossing, it was hit by Metrolink Train Number 206 on the Antelope Valley Line.

The train stopped on the tracks for several hours, and about 150 passengers were onboard at the time. Three passengers sustained injuries, with one hospitalized, along with a bystander struck by debris. The remaining injured individuals received treatment from Los Angeles County and Glendale fire personnel aboard the train.

Service disruptions affected Trains 207 and 208 on the Antelope Valley Line and Trains 320 and 341 on the San Bernardino Line. Metro buses were used to transport passengers between stations while the Glendale Police Department conducted its investigation.
