Fatal Brownsville, Brooklyn shooting/car crash death of Kenneth Brewer – Obituary
A Brooklyn woman has been taken into custody following the deadly stabbing of a Bronx man in Brownsville, according to police. Investigators say the incident happened Wednesday evening inside an apartment building at 181 Rockaway Parkway.
Authorities identified the victim as 47-year-old Kenneth Brewer. Police allege that 48-year-old Aiesha Walker attacked Brewer inside the residence where she lives. Officers initially reported they were searching for an additional suspect, but Walker was arrested Thursday shortly after 5 p.m.
Walker has been charged with manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon, law enforcement officials confirmed.
Police officers responding to the scene found Brewer shortly before 8 p.m. suffering from a stab wound to his chest. Emergency medical crews transported him to One Brooklyn Health-Brookdale Hospital Medical Center in critical condition. Despite medical efforts, Brewer later died from his injuries.
Brewer’s girlfriend, Caprice Sanders, told News 12 that he had been staying with her since relocating to the Bronx from Milwaukee about five years ago. She said the last time she saw him was earlier in the week and expressed shock and heartbreak over his death.
Family members described Brewer as a devoted father and a hardworking man. They said he was employed as an assistant superintendent and also worked as a security guard, remembering him as someone who took pride in providing for his family.
