Authorities have identified Thomas Foster as the man who lost his life during a shooting Tuesday night in Standish, according to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Police responded to a residence on Kennie Drive at approximately 9:28 p.m. after receiving reports of a dispute that escalated into violence. Upon arrival, officers discovered Foster, 23, deceased inside the home.

Investigators said another adult male involved in the incident was transported to a hospital and treated for injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

The medical examiner’s office confirmed that Foster died as a result of a gunshot wound and ruled the manner of death a homicide.

Law enforcement officials stated there is no ongoing threat to the community. The case remains under active investigation as police continue to gather information surrounding the events leading up to the shooting.
