Mark Nevells, 47, of Brooksville, lost his life following a serious multi-vehicle collision Friday afternoon on Blue Hill Road in Surry. Maine State Police confirmed that Nevells was pronounced dead at the scene after sustaining critical injuries.
According to authorities, troopers were dispatched to the crash site around 2:44 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 6, 2026, after receiving reports of a three-vehicle accident. Early findings show that a 2015 Subaru Forester traveling northbound crossed over the center line for reasons that have not yet been determined.
The Subaru then collided with two vehicles heading south, identified as a 2018 Honda Fit and a 2024 Ram 2500. Emergency responders arrived quickly, but Nevells, who was driving the Subaru, could not be saved.
The drivers of the Honda Fit and the Ram 2500 were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Officials said both were later released after receiving medical care.
Maine State Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash, and no additional details have been released at this time.
