Aaron Lee Bottorff dies in fatal Jefferson County car crash
Fatal Jefferson County car crash death of Aaron Lee Bottorff – Obituary

Aaron Lee Bottorff, 51, of La Grande, Oregon, was killed in a two-vehicle collision in Jefferson County, according to Oregon State Police. The crash occurred Sunday afternoon on Highway 97 near milepost 102.

Investigators say Bottorff was driving a northbound Subaru Forester when the vehicle crossed into the southbound lane for reasons that have not yet been determined. The Subaru then collided head-on with a southbound Jeep Cherokee driven by 34-year-old Brayan Gonzalez Celestino of Bend.

Bottorff was pronounced dead at the scene. Gonzalez Celestino sustained minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The crash caused significant traffic disruptions, with Highway 97 affected for roughly three hours while authorities conducted their investigation. Oregon State Police were assisted at the scene by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Jefferson County Fire crews, and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
