Authorities have identified the young woman who died in a multi-vehicle collision on I-84 in Canyon County. Gabriela Gonzalez, 20, from Homedale, was a passenger in a car involved in a four-vehicle crash Friday evening near milepost 32.

According to reports, a 37-year-old man from Nampa fled a previous accident and drove westbound in the eastbound lanes of the interstate. His pickup sideswiped a 2024 Freightliner Cascadia driven by a 61-year-old man from Jacksonville, Florida, before colliding head-on with the Hyundai Elantra carrying Gonzalez and a 23-year-old driver from Ontario, Oregon. Gonzalez sustained fatal blunt force injuries in the impact.

Idaho State Police and Canyon County officials continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. Autopsy and further investigative results are pending as authorities work to determine the full cause of the tragic collision.
