Fatal Thornton hit-and-run death of Jayden Marrujo – Obituary
Jayden Marrujo, a 14-year-old Northglenn High School student, was killed in a hit-and-run collision in Thornton, Colorado. Authorities say he was riding a motorized bike near Huron Street and West Thornton Parkway Saturday evening when a 2013 BMW 328i struck him from behind. He was rushed to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
The suspect, 23-year-old Jeremy Nobles, was arrested Sunday and faces charges of careless driving causing death and leaving the scene of a fatal crash. Police identified the vehicle using Flock Safety license plate camera data, which led to a Medina Alert and ultimately Nobles’ arrest in Northglenn.
Marrujo’s family described him as a kind, generous boy with a love for football. His uncle, who helped raise him from a young age, recalled his nephew’s joyful spirit and the positive impact he had on friends and family. A GoFundMe page set up by the family highlights the void his death has left in their lives.
Thornton Police Chief Jim Baird expressed condolences, emphasizing the tragic loss and the community’s support for the grieving family. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the collision.
