Kimberly Stepp, 64, lost her life after a late-night traffic collision in Green Township, Ohio, authorities confirmed Monday. The crash happened shortly before 3 a.m. on North Bend Road near Mercy Health Boulevard.

According to the Green Township Police Department, Stepp was driving when her vehicle was struck from behind by a car operated by 21-year-old Alex Temoxtle. The impact of the collision resulted in critical injuries to Stepp.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene and Stepp was later pronounced dead as a result of the crash. Police stated that alcohol is not believed to have played a role, though investigators are examining whether excessive speed contributed to the incident.

Court records show Temoxtle has been taken into custody and is being held at the Hamilton County Justice Center on a $10,000 bond. He faces charges including aggravated vehicular homicide, driving without a license, and failure to maintain an assured clear distance.

The investigation into the deadly crash remains ongoing as authorities continue to review the circumstances leading up to the collision.
