Lyric Latrice Farley dies in fatal Douglas County, Georgia shooting

Fatal Douglas County, Georgia shooting death of Lyric Latrice Farley – Obituary

Lyric Latrice Farley, 19, of Carrollton, Georgia, a University of West Georgia student, was shot and killed on Saturday afternoon in a parking lot behind a Dollar General off Central Church Road in the Kings Corner area of Douglasville. Deputies responding to a 911 call found Farley inside a vehicle, where she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators identified 20-year-old David Marc Anthony Powell of Douglasville as the suspect. Authorities say Farley and Powell had a prior personal relationship and that the shooting occurred following a disagreement. Powell was arrested early Sunday without incident and has been charged with murder and aggravated assault. The case remains under investigation.
