Fatal Troy, Alabama police chase death of Rosolando V. Givens and Alkesa S. Liptrot – Obituary

Rosolando V. Givens, 52, and Alkesa S. Liptrot, 45, both of Troy, Alabama, were killed early Sunday morning during a high-speed police chase near Troy University. The incident began just before 2 a.m. when a Troy University police officer attempted to approach a stopped Audi A4 on Elm Street. The vehicle fled at high speed, prompting a pursuit.

Shortly afterward, the car left the roadway and collided with a utility pole. Givens, driving the car, and Liptrot, the passenger, were both not wearing seatbelts and were pronounced dead at the scene.

Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
