Fatal Warsaw, Virginia hit-and-run car crash death of Arthur A. Day – Obituary
Arthur A. Day, a 58-year-old resident of Warsaw, died following a hit-and-run incident involving a pedestrian on the evening of Tuesday, February 3, in Warsaw, Virginia. The collision took place along Richmond Road during nighttime traffic conditions.
According to Virginia State Police, the incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. as Day was attempting to cross Richmond Road roughly 129 feet west of Campus Drive. At the time, several vehicles were traveling eastbound. Investigators said an initial vehicle swerved to avoid him, but a second vehicle struck Day moments later.
Witnesses described the vehicle that hit Day as a black or dark-colored SUV. After the collision, the driver did not stop and continued eastbound on Richmond Road. Authorities reported that no license plate details were available.
Emergency responders transported Day to VCU Tappahannock for medical treatment. Despite efforts by medical staff, he later died from injuries sustained in the crash.
State police confirmed that the driver and vehicle involved have not yet been identified. The investigation remains active as authorities continue working to determine who was responsible for the fatal hit-and-run.
