Fatal Travelers Rest, South Carolina car crash death of Devin Glenn Tipton – Obituary

Devin Glenn Tipton, a 30-year-old resident of Greenville, lost his life early Wednesday morning after being struck by a tractor-trailer in Travelers Rest, South Carolina. The deadly incident occurred before sunrise on the North Highway 25 bypass near Roe Ford Road.

According to the Greenville County Coroner’s Office, emergency crews were dispatched to the scene at approximately 4:55 a.m. Upon arrival, responders found Tipton lying in the roadway, where he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators determined that Tipton was crossing the road at the time he was hit by the tractor-trailer. The coroner’s office reported that he died as a result of blunt force trauma sustained in the crash.

An autopsy has been scheduled to take place later Wednesday as part of the ongoing investigation. Authorities confirmed that the circumstances surrounding the crash are being jointly examined by the Greenville County Coroner’s Office and the Travelers Rest Police Department.

Officials have not released additional details as the investigation remains active.
