Eric Estrada, 17, was killed Saturday evening after being struck by an RV while crossing Lake Mead Boulevard at Lamont Street in a marked crosswalk. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police reported that the incident occurred shortly before 6 p.m.

The driver, 65-year-old Mark Clayton, fled the scene but was later apprehended. He faces charges including DUI causing death, reckless driving, and leaving the scene of an accident. Estrada’s family is urging city officials to make safety upgrades at the intersection, which is near three local schools, to prevent future tragedies.
