Fatal Venango County car crash death of Kassandra Frawley – Obituary
Kassandra Frawley, 34, of Oil City, was killed Monday afternoon after a two-vehicle collision in Sugarcreek Borough, Venango County. The crash occurred at the intersection of Gibb Road and Allegheny Boulevard shortly before 4 p.m., according to Pennsylvania State Police.
Investigators said Frawley was entering the intersection from a parking lot and had the right of way when her vehicle was struck. A Ford Bronco driven by 39-year-old Ian Haux was traveling south on Allegheny Boulevard and failed to stop for a red light before colliding with the driver’s side of Frawley’s car.
The impact left Frawley trapped inside her vehicle. Emergency crews worked to free her, and she was later flown by medical helicopter to a hospital. Despite life-saving efforts, she later died from her injuries.
Haux was also injured and transported to a hospital for treatment. Following further investigation, police determined he was driving under the influence at the time of the crash.
Haux was taken into custody and charged with homicide by motor vehicle while driving under the influence. He was arraigned and remanded to the Venango County Jail as the investigation continues.
