Authorities have confirmed the identity of the woman who lost her life in a traffic collision that occurred Wednesday morning in northeast Austin. Police said Daisy Josephine Nuncio, 37, died following a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Loyola Lane and Sendero Hills Parkway.

Officers with the Austin Police Department responded to the scene shortly after 7 a.m. Upon arrival, they found Nuncio with fatal injuries. She was pronounced dead at the location of the crash.

The individuals traveling in the other vehicle involved were treated for injuries that were described as not life-threatening and were transported to a nearby hospital for medical care. Police have not released information regarding possible charges related to the incident.

The crash marks Austin’s 11th fatal traffic incident so far this year, a notable increase compared to the same period last year, when the city had recorded five deadly crashes. Investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the collision.
