Four people lost their lives early Friday morning in a plane crash near Steamboat Springs, Colorado, authorities confirmed.

The victims—47-year-old Aaron Stokes, 21-year-old Jackson Stokes, 21-year-old Colin Stokes, and 37-year-old Austin Huskey—were aboard an Epic Aircraft E1000 approaching Steamboat Springs Airport, also known as Bob Adams Field, when the plane struck Emerald Mountain shortly after midnight.

Routt County Search and Rescue personnel, along with sheriff’s deputies, recovered the bodies at the scene. Officials said the aircraft had taken off from Nashville, made a stop in Kansas City, and was en route to Steamboat Springs when the crash occurred at an elevation of approximately 8,000 feet.

The National Transportation Safety Board has launched an investigation into the circumstances of the crash to determine the cause.
