Fatal Farmingville stabbing death of Adriana Barbosa – Obituary

Adriana Barbosa, 46, was fatally stabbed Thursday evening at her home on Granny Road in Farmingville, authorities reported. Responding to a domestic disturbance around 8:15 p.m., police found Barbosa with severe stab wounds and rushed her to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Marcos Marques-Leal, 57, her estranged husband, has been charged with murder, criminal contempt, and endangering the welfare of a child. A teenage relative present during the incident also sustained injuries and was hospitalized with non-life-threatening wounds.

Marques-Leal was taken to the hospital for serious injuries following an apparent attempted suicide, and police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the attack.
