Fatal Social Circle car crash death of Cathy Denise Howell – Obituary

A 42-year-old woman from Social Circle lost her life following a single-vehicle crash Saturday night on Georgia Highway 11, authorities reported.

Cathy Denise Howell suffered severe injuries in the wreck and was transported to Atlanta Medical Center for emergency treatment. Despite medical efforts, she passed away Sunday morning, according to the Georgia Department of Public Safety.

Investigators said Howell had been driving a Ford F-150 southbound at approximately 10 p.m. when she approached a curve in the roadway. While attempting to navigate the bend, the truck crossed over the center line and left the roadway.

The vehicle then entered a ditch, collided with a culvert and a utility pole, and rolled over multiple times. Officials indicated that excessive speed contributed to the crash.
