Robert Hill, 62, a sergeant with the Utah Department of Corrections, was killed Sunday morning after being ejected from his vehicle during a rollover crash near 700 North and 8000 West in Salt Lake City. Witnesses reported seeing the vehicle off the road shortly before 7:30 a.m., prompting a 911 call.

Police say preliminary findings indicate Hill was traveling southbound at a high speed when he veered off the roadway, causing the car to roll multiple times. Hill, the only occupant, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.
