Fatal Bethel Island shooting death of Edward Garofalo IV – Obituary

Edward Garofalo IV, 38, of Martinez, was killed in a shooting Monday night in Bethel Island, according to the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office. The gunfire was reported at approximately 8:49 p.m. in the 3200 block of Dutch Slough Road.

When deputies arrived, they found Garofalo lying in the roadway. He was declared dead at the scene by responding authorities.

The Sheriff’s Office said homicide investigators have taken over the case and are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting. As of Wednesday, no arrests had been announced and officials have not released information about any potential suspects.
