Fatal Bexar County, Texas car crash death of Daymien Pablo Arriaga and Andrew Avery Salazar – Obituary
Two 16-year-old teenagers, Daymien Pablo Arriaga and Andrew Avery Salazar, died Sunday morning following a high-speed crash in Bexar County, authorities confirmed.
The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office reported that both teens suffered multiple blunt force injuries, and their deaths were ruled accidental. The crash occurred after deputies responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle around 4 a.m. near Blacktail Crest and Bonita Bend. Video showed the teens entering driveways, testing door handles, and getting into vehicles, according to officials.
Arriaga and Salazar were later seen fleeing the area in a stolen Toyota at high speed. Deputies activated emergency lights but lost sight of the vehicle before attempting to catch up. The car eventually crashed in the 14800 block of Kallison Bend, resulting in severe injuries. One of the teens was ejected from the vehicle, and both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Following the incident, the deputies involved were placed on administrative leave and will transition to administrative duty pending review. The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office’s Internal Affairs Division and Public Integrity Unit are conducting separate investigations into the crash.
