Fatal San Luis Obispo, California motorcycle crash death of Jeremiah Gerlach – Obituary

Jeremiah Gerlach, 25, of San Luis Obispo, died Tuesday morning after a motorcycle crash on Broad Street, authorities confirmed.

The San Luis Obispo Police Department reported that Gerlach was traveling southbound around 9 a.m. when he collided with a vehicle making a left turn onto Caudill Street. He sustained severe injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Due to the severity of the collision, the city’s Severe Collision Investigation Detail responded to the scene. Broad Street was temporarily closed during the investigation.

Police confirmed that the driver of the vehicle remained on scene and was cooperating, and DUI is not suspected as a factor. The circumstances of the crash remain under investigation.
