Michael Brown, 22, died following a crash during Spring Break along Highway 361 in Port Aransas, authorities confirmed.

The Port Aransas Police Department reported that the collision occurred on March 14 near Cinnamon Shore and Access Road 1A. Brown was a passenger in a Jeep that collided with a Tesla. During the crash, he was ejected from the vehicle.

Brown was transported to a medical facility, where the Nueces County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed he succumbed to his injuries on March 20. The crash caused significant traffic disruptions along the busy coastal roadway.

The Texas Department of Public Safety has arrested the Jeep’s driver on a charge of driving while intoxicated. Investigators continue to review the circumstances surrounding the crash.
