Fatal Chicago shooting death of Antwan Washington – Obituary

Antwan Washington, 45, was shot and killed while inside his South Side home early Saturday morning, according to Chicago police. The incident occurred shortly after 5 a.m. on the 5700-block of South May Street in the Englewood neighborhood.

Authorities said a person inside a gray sedan fired shots into the house, striking Washington in the head. He was declared dead at the scene. The driver of the sedan fled northbound on May Street following the shooting.

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed Washington’s identity, and Area One detectives are currently handling the investigation. Police have not released additional details regarding the motive or possible suspects.
