Fatal Pierce County, Washington motorcycle crash death of Sean Weckhorst – Obituary

Authorities have identified 36-year-old Sean Weckhorst of Graham as the motorcyclist who died in a collision on Sunday night in south Pierce County.

The crash occurred around 1:15 a.m. on State Route 7 near 240th Street East. According to the Washington State Patrol, Weckhorst was traveling southbound when he collided with a 20-year-old driver from Yelm attempting a U-turn from the center turn lane. The impact brought both vehicles to a stop at the intersection.

Weckhorst suffered multiple blunt force injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Pierce County Medical Examiner. The Yelm driver sustained injuries and was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital.

State Route 7 was closed for approximately four hours while authorities investigated the crash. The incident remains under review.
