Fatal East Hollywood hit-and-run death of Tommie Simpson III – Obituary

Tommie Simpson III, 52, was struck and killed by a vehicle early Friday morning in East Hollywood, authorities reported. The incident occurred around 3:45 a.m. on the 700 block of North Vermont Avenue, near Seventh Street.

LAPD officers said the driver hit Simpson while traveling north on Vermont Avenue and continued driving, later colliding with another vehicle before fleeing the scene. Simpson was pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner confirmed Simpson’s identity. No suspect or vehicle description has been released, and the investigation remains ongoing.
