Fatal Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania shooting death of Amaree K. Dawson – Obituary
A late-night shooting in Pittsburgh’s South Side neighborhood claimed the life of 23-year-old Amaree K. Dawson, according to authorities.
Police say the incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. Sunday near the intersection of South 18th Street and East Carson Street, an area known for its busy nightlife. Gunfire was detected in the vicinity, prompting officers and emergency responders to rush to the scene.
Dawson, who was from Bellevue, was found with gunshot wounds and transported to UPMC Mercy hospital. Despite medical efforts, he died roughly 20 minutes after arriving.
Officials stated that this fatal shooting is separate from an earlier road rage incident that happened nearby shortly before midnight. In that case, 25-year-old Devin Maurice Singleton was arrested after allegedly shooting a motorist during an argument.
Authorities have not yet announced any arrests related to Dawson’s death, and the investigation remains ongoing.
