Charline Gail Patterson, 46, of Java, and her 4-year-old daughter, Ivyonna Patterson, were killed Friday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash on Halifax Road at the intersection of Java Road in Pittsylvania County, Virginia.

Virginia State Police reported that a 2006 Honda Accord, driven by Patterson, was turning onto Route 57 from Java Road when it was struck by a westbound 2021 Ford F-350. Both mother and daughter were properly restrained at the time of the collision but were pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the full circumstances of the crash.
