Fatal LaGrange shooting death of Jakhala Moss – Obituary

Authorities have identified 26-year-old Jakhala Moss as one of the victims killed in a shooting at the Cameron Crossing apartment complex in LaGrange, Georgia, on March 30, 2026.

The incident occurred around 5:35 p.m. in the parking lot of the complex on Meadow Terrace. Responding officers found Moss unresponsive with a gunshot wound. During the investigation, they discovered another victim inside an apartment, 18-year-old Jamarcus Kennedy, who had also been shot. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene despite efforts from first responders.

Police reported that two suspects, described as Black males, approached the apartment building on foot and opened fire on Moss and Kennedy before fleeing the area. Authorities have not released the names of the suspects and are asking anyone with information to contact Detective K. Scott or submit anonymous tips through the Tip411 system.
