Homicide investigators have identified 27-year-old Jasmin Sekhon as the victim of a shooting at a Surrey townhouse complex on the 15100 block of 60 Avenue Saturday evening. Sekhon was pronounced dead at the scene around 6:40 p.m.
Authorities say Sekhon had prior police interactions and was believed to be involved in the drug trade. Early evidence indicates the killing was likely a targeted act connected to organized crime. Approximately 15 minutes after the shooting, a burning vehicle was discovered near 186 Street and 44 Avenue, a scene element often associated with gang-related violence.
