Otavis Gerquel McKinnon dies in fatal Goldsboro shooting

Fatal Goldsboro shooting death of Otavis Gerquel McKinnon – Obituary

Authorities have identified 37-year-old Otavis Gerquel McKinnon of Goldsboro as the man who was found shot to death at an apartment complex.

Officers with the Goldsboro Police Department responded to a reported shooting around 12:45 a.m. Tuesday in the 300 block of Hollowell Street. When they arrived, they discovered McKinnon suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.

Investigators from the department’s Investigative Services Bureau are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident. Officials say the case remains active and ongoing.

Police are asking anyone with information related to the shooting to come forward and assist with the investigation.
