Fatal Oceana County car crash death of Robert Thomas Veld – Obituary
Robert Thomas Veld, 52, of New Era, Michigan, died Saturday, March 28, following a single-vehicle crash on U.S. 31 near South 66th Avenue in Shelby Township. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to sheriff’s deputies, Veld was driving his northbound Chevrolet TrailBlazer when icy road conditions and excessive speed caused him to lose control. The vehicle spun off the road, rolled over in the median, and Veld was ejected. Authorities noted that he was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
