Fatal Council Bluffs car crash death of Alex Foster Jr – Obituary
Authorities have released the name of the man who died in a single-vehicle crash in Council Bluffs on Thursday afternoon. Alex Foster Jr, 39, of Omaha, was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the Council Bluffs Police Department, the crash happened shortly after 1:30 p.m. near the 45-mile marker on Interstate 29. Emergency responders were called after a vehicle was discovered in Pony Creek between the northbound and southbound bridges.
Preliminary findings indicate Foster had been driving northbound when his vehicle crossed into the southbound lanes, struck a bridge abutment, and then went into the creek below. Officials believe speed may have played a role in the crash, and no other vehicles were involved.
Foster was the only person in the vehicle at the time of the incident. The case remains under investigation by the Council Bluffs Police Department Traffic Unit.
