Fatal Prachuap Thailand car crash death of Salim Abbas Shah – Obituary

A 35-year-old man from Lancashire has died after being involved in a traffic accident while visiting Thailand.

Salim Abbas Shah was traveling in the Prachuap region during March when the fatal collision took place. Originally from Blackburn and later living in Great Harwood, he had been abroad on holiday at the time of the incident.

Following the tragedy, his remains were returned to the United Kingdom. Identification was carried out by Imran Patel of the Blackburn Muslim Burial Service.

An initial inquest hearing into his death was held at Preston Coroners’ Court on April 2, where proceedings were briefly opened before being postponed.

The court heard that Salim had been working as a car valeter and lived on Blackburn Road prior to his passing.

Area Coroner Kate Bisset confirmed that the cause of death was linked to a road traffic collision that occurred on March 18. His body was formally identified several days later.

A full inquest will take place at a later date, with the next hearing scheduled for June 25.
