Fatal Newark, Delaware car crash death of Anthony Curry – Obituary
Authorities have identified the man who died following a multi-vehicle collision in Newark as 45-year-old Anthony Curry, a local resident.
According to Delaware State Police, the crash occurred on the evening of April 1, 2026, at approximately 6:50 p.m. along South College Avenue (Route 896), just north of Old Baltimore Pike.
Preliminary investigations indicate that Anthony Curry was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee northbound when, for reasons still under investigation, the vehicle crossed the center median and collided with a southbound Chevrolet Silverado. A Subaru Ascent traveling in the same direction was also involved in the crash.
Curry was transported to a nearby hospital after the collision but later succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the Chevrolet, a 42-year-old Newark man, sustained critical injuries and was also taken to a hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, the driver of the Subaru, a 42-year-old man from Middletown, was not injured.
Authorities said the roadway remained closed for several hours as crews worked to investigate and clear the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
